Dharma Day at The Convent

Building community connections, raising funds for education and supporting Asylum Seekers will be the focus of Dharma Day at The Convent Gallery, Daylesford on Saturday 30th July 2011.

Morning activities are free for all the family from 10am-1pm and include:

  • Dharma Q & A to get some ideas flowing to benefit our community at 12 noon
    “What does our town need to create a happy community?”
  • Supporting the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
    Bring your high quality beautiful and generous donations for our refugee friends at the ASRC with urgently needed goods: Breakfast cereals, Dried Fruit, Healthy School snacks, tomato paste, tahini, tea and coffee, spices. Large Cooking Pans, Nappies, blankets, linen, towels, Metcards, International calling cards, Mobile phones (new or used with chargers), Kmart or Big W gift cards. Razor blades, toothpaste, breast pads and maternity pads. Our offerings will receive a Tibetan Buddhist blessing to increase the potential benefits that the donation will bring and be delivered to the ASRC.
  • Kids activities
  • See and bid on our range of Daylesford and Melbourne treats in our Silent Auction
  • Doc Henry plays live

Then from 2-5pm for Adults:

  • Consciousness Quiz – an entertaining afternoon of Quiz questions with great prizes
  • Live Auction & Silent Auction prizes including accommodation, spa treats, wine, dinner vouchers and artworks
  • Delicious afternoon tea provided by Ego Catering
  • Great entertainment as Ciderhouse String Band & Mana play live!
  • Dharma raffle drawn – tickets $2 each or 3 for $5 – amazing prizes
